Using Scraps For A Background, Sketch to Stitch

Bunny Pillow with a Scrappy Background

Bunny Pillow with a Scrappy Background

n this week’s project, I sew this cute Spring pillow using my sketch of a bunny. If you want to sew along, the PDF bunny design is available in my Etsy Shop here. The bunny is stitched using free-motion.

This is such an easy, fast background but it looks time consuming. I love fake outs! Take a closer look.

My finished pillow measures 14” x 14” so I cut my background fabric, batting and backing at 15” x 15”. The patchwork strips are cut at 2.5” and 1.25” wide with varied lengths. This is a great for using up any 2.5” strips left over from other projects.

Here is this week’s video class on how I make this Bunny Accent Pillow. Next week, I show how I make a fabric covered journal using this same bunny design.
