Handmade Ruffled Muslin Ribbon

Handmade Ruffled Muslin Ribbon

“Sew” Sweet!

Have you ever used watercolors on fabric? I realize it is not washable, but this ribbon can be used on many non washable craft projects. I added some to the “girl face” journals I made this week.

I love how watercolors blend and move on the wet muslin. I really needed color on this grey day.

Adding Color

After the ribbon has dried, I take it to my sewing machine and ruffle it. I do not use a special attachment. Instead I make little tucks with my fingers. It’s perfectly imperfect!

Each ribbon measures 5 feet long is packaged on a stamped and painted tag. A button dangle is pinned to hold the ribbon in places.
