Sew With Me, Free-Motion Bicycle Design

Bicycle Pillow

Hi everyone. In this project, we are sewing a pillow cover using the a bike design that I created. If you want to sew along, the design can be purchased in my Etsy Shop here: This is an easy free-motion appliqué project- great for beginners.

Picture of Supplies

Flowers are tumbling out of the bike’s baskets and also scattered in the grass. For this fabric I used this beautiful floral print by Sue Zipkens. It is a Clothworks collection called Radiance. Here is a link to the fabric.

Scraps of green strips were used for the grass.

Design in process

The design comes in 3 sizes. The large size was used in the Pillow Project. I used the small size for a set of 4 coasters. I changed the bike tire fabric to a different color in each of the coasters. Each also has a different saying stitched below it.

The medium size was used in a notebook cover. Don’t these just scream summer! I love the playfulness of this design.

I filmed the process of using this design on the pillow cover. I hope you enjoy it!
