Boho Denim Purse from Thrifted Jeans , A Sewing Tutorial

Purse Made From Denim Jeans

Hi everyone. I made a couple of projects using the embellishment kits that I made in my last video. The kits contains muslin ribbon with the words “Free Spirit” on it, a stamped tag, and feather and arrow appliqués. The appliques have heat-n-bond lite on the back and are ready for your creativity! You can purchase the kits here in my Etsy store:

Here are some photos of the journals that I made using the kit. Each is a notebook cover that fits a 5”x7” junior composition book. This size fits great in a backpack or tote. I love how different the two covers are even though I used the same kit.

The second project that I completed using the kit, was this boho denim bag made from a pair of my husband’s old jeans. Don’t you love a good up-cycle!

I filmed the process of making this style of bag. I used only half of the jeans. The half can also be used for a different purse. It’s a fun technique. I used free-motion stitching to attach the ribbon and appliqués. Here’s the video. Enjoy!
