My Quick Trip Bag, An Easy-To-Sew Purse
You will love this easy-to-sew purse. I call it my Quick Trip Bag and it’s perfect for that short trip out and about. It measures 6” x 9” and can be worn cross-body.

Here are the cutting instructions: Template is 7" x 21". The outer fabric, lining fabric and fusible foam are cut 8" x 22". The cord loop is cut 3" x 5" and the pocket is cut 7" x 14". I use a fusible foam for the stabilizer.
Isn’t this fabric yummy? It is Tim Holtz "Abandoned" #PWTH126 Rusted Patina. I purchased at my local quilt shop, but found it on-line here:
Zipper in Back
A zippered pocket is a great place for your keys. Scared of sewing zippers? Don’t be! I share this easy application in my video below.
For the cord, I used my twisted fabric cord. This cord is so simple to make and a great way to use scraps of fabric. I strengthen the cord by zigzagging down the center of it.
