Making New Fabric From Thread Bits
Clutch made from thread snips.
Another clutch.
This week I shared another free-motion stitching project. I am making new fabric from scraps and bits. I love the results! I turned the fabric into these zippered clutches. Each is so different.
A wonderful viewer sent me Happy Mail! Inside was a beautiful pin cushion and a bag of her serger thread collection. Oh the possibilities! Take a look at this thread!
Pile of thread.
In this tutorial, I show how I created new fabric using this thread and bits of scrap fabric.

The outer layer is a tulle or netting. Because this is quite delicate, I demonstrate how I put protected corners on my clutches. I will also show how easy it is to make a detachable strap. Enjoy!
