Fabric SunGlasses Case, A Sewing Tutorial
Hi everyone! Today I have a quick and easy sewing project. We are making a fabric sunglasses case. I love using a double sided fusible foam for the stabilizer. It adds a wonderful cushy feel, is easy to work with and protects your sunglasses!
You will need 2 pieces of fabric that measures 8″ x 9.5″ I really like this size because the case is large enough to handle large sunglasses or even your cell phone but still fits nicely into most purses.
Arteza Rulers and Rotary Cutter
To cut my fabric, I am using the 9.5″ square ruler by Arteza. I love these rulers! The grid can easily be seen with both light and dark fabrics and the adhesive rings help prevent any slipping.
Double-sided fusible foam.
The double sided fusible foam is cut an inch smaller on both sides. It measures 7″ x 8.5″.
Stitching a motif with free-motion.
I love added those special touches to my sunglasses case! Here I am sewing a thrifted lace motif and a wooden button.
Button Sewing
Almost done! I use wonder clips to hold it all together while sewing the sides and bottom.
